Hotel booking really is a lottery. Without knowing people who have actually stayed in the places you visit, you’re usually left depending on the honesty of accommodation websites. Trying to get cheap deals increases the risk of ending up in a hole, which is how we found ourselves at Washington’s Skyway Inn last weekend.
